Francesca Ochoa is a fiction writer whose work explores the Central American diaspora, multiracial families, gender, and queerness. Her short stories have appeared in La PresaKweli JournalThe Account Magazine, and elsewhere. She has an M.F.A. in Fiction from Columbia University and a B.A. in Critical Gender Studies from the University of California San Diego. She is an alumnus of Voices of Our Nation's Arts (VONA), and a recipient of fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference and the Astraea Foundation. While serving as managing editor for Apogee Journal, she co-founded Writing Resistance, a creative writing and social justice workshop series, for which she was awarded multi-year funding from the Brooklyn Arts Council.
